Gugulethu Sofia Mbatha is better known by her stage and screen name Gugu Mbatha Raw. She became popular due to her appearance in the BBC television series of science fiction called Doctor Who. Handler began her stand-up career being a part of the only female Oxygen team, and was a part of a television show known as Girls Behaving BADLY. The show was renowned for its hidden camera and humorous jokes. The show was broadcast from 2002 to2005. Handler started appearing on other TV shows, such as Weekends at D.L., The Bernie Mac Show, The Practice and My Wife and Kids. Handler began her professional career as a reporter for The Tonight Show. Handler received her first big break as she hosted her E! Show in 2006. The show was called Chelsea Handler. The Chelsea Handler Show ran for two years. Handler performed on Comedy Central's Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour the next season in the United States. VH1, Comedy Central Premium Blend, HBO and Comedy Central have all broadcasted her stand-up show. The announcement was made in 2010 that she was to host MTV's Video Music Awards in 2010.
